The short version
American Colombian Academy is a 501(c)(3) public charity. We’re committed to clear reporting, respectful privacy, and donor-first policies.
If you ever have a question about a charge, a receipt, a recurring donation, or how to get a document (like a Form 990), we want that to be easy.

Financial transparency
We want “Where does my gift go?” to have a real answer.
Financial Statements & IRS filings
Annual filing: As a grassroots charity with annual revenue under $50,000, American Colombian Academy files the IRS Form 990‑N (e‑Postcard) each year.
The 990‑N is a public confirmation for small nonprofits. If you need documentation (grant due diligence, employer matching, internal review), we’re happy to help.
Why do some older ACA filings show Form 990‑PF?
In prior years, due to an IRS classification issue, ACA was required to file Form 990‑PF even though our work and support model have always been that of a publicly supported charity. Once the classification was corrected and finalized, our annual filings moved to the appropriate public‑charity format (including 990‑N when under the revenue threshold).

Fundraising disclosure
- ACA does not use professional fundraisers.
- Fundraising is conducted directly by our volunteers, directors, and local partners.
- We do not sell, rent, or share donor data with any third party.
- If your state requires a specific disclosure, ask us and we’ll provide it.
How we use your gifts
Nearly all funds are spent directly on ACA programs, educational materials, teacher training, and essential outreach — primarily in Colombia, where the impact is greatest.
As a small, volunteer-driven organization, we keep records simple and clear. If you want a summary of how gifts are used, contact us any time.
